Can I double everything on here if I am feeding 20 people? Is it anything I shouldn’t double?

I would cook each platter separately. You don’t want to over cook or under cook the macaroni and cheese. 🙂

Hi there! I’m new to your blog, but came across your video for Southern Baked Mac’n’Cheese on youtube! I’m so happy I did! My two little boys LOVE mac’n’cheese….but unfortunately, I’ve never actually made it. Their daddy grew up on the Velveeta Shells’n’cheese, since his mama never really made the “real stuff” either. Which one do you think I should make for Thanksgiving….The Southern Baked one or this Classic Mac? I’m torn because they both look sooooooo yummy! Plus, I have a picky mother in law who tries to criticize everything I make (even though I’m normally a pretty good cook/baker)….so I want to make sure I pick the right one. 🙂 (Though I’m sure I can’t go wrong with either.)

Hi Char! Since this is your first time around, I’d say go with the classic macaroni and cheese. It’s pretty much foolproof. The last thing we want it the “Mother in Law” talking mess. LOL…. Definitely stick with the classic mac n cheese. ALSO the hot sauce just adds flavor to the sauce. It doesn’t make it spicy ( my son hates spicy food too). If you want, you can leave the hot sauce out if it freaks you out. It won’t make much of a difference 🙂 .. I hope you and your family have an amazing Thanksgiving! XOXO

This is supposed to cooked uncovered, correct? I We followed these directions perfectly last night and it came out very soupy. We had to re-cook it uncovered, following the video, versus text. Even at 35 minutes on 350 in a gas oven, it was a little soupy.

Hi Andrew, I’m not sure why you’re macaroni and cheese came out “soupy”. Especially if you followed the recipe given. That is indeed a first.

I used this recipe and followed it exactly. Covered it and it was nowhere near done in 35 minutes. When I read the recipe, I thought that 4 cups was a lot of milk. But I followed it and it was not near done. If I do it again, I will use less milk. I did not tweak it because you said it was fool proof. For me it wasn’t.

My dad was a certified chef many years, but one thing he didn’t do was teach a sister about the kitchen well I prayed about good recipes and found your site. I still don’t tell husband and 4 kids about this. They say its good and I say Yes Ms. Rosie did it again. Plus I have an Aunt Rosie which makes us family now.

This recipe should feed about 6-8 people. You will have to divide the recipe if your making it for three people.

This looks delicious. I’m going to use this recipe the next time I prepare Mac n Cheese. I am from Seattle, born and raised but did not know about you until I moved to Texas about 5 years ago. I last lived in Auburn, but Federal Way was where I shopped. I purchased one of your earlier Recipe Books for my daughter as a Christmas Present. She still uses it. Thank you for all the great recipes and I really like the videos. They answer a lot of questions that the paper recipe cannot.
