A Delicious Slow Cooker Smothered Turkey Wings Recipe!

Hey y’all!! So the other day I was craving some good old fashioned southern smothered turkey wings. However, I didn’t want to bake them in the oven. I know this sounds lazy, but I just didn’t want to do all the necessary steps for oven baked smothered turkey wings. You know.. The seasoning, then the baking, then making the gravy.. THEN removing the wings out of then oven, adding the graving, and MORE baking… Nope, I wasn’t having it y’all. I just wanted some smothered turkey wings, with less steps. That’s when I decided to cook my smothered turkey wings in the slow cooker!Chopped red onions and tender mushrooms on a wooden chopping block.

I knew that if I made my turkey wings in the slow cooker it would prevent me from having to several steps.  However, I still wanted to put in a little time to make a homemade gravy, because let’s face it- There ain’t no substitute for homemade gravy! No jar, no gravy mix, and no canned soup is going to even come close to that soulful homemade gravy that Grandma use to make. So let’s just keep it real, and make REAL GRAVY.

While you’re here, check out some of my other turkey wing recipes!

SOUL FOOD STYLE BAKED BARBECUE TURKEY WINGS

THE BEST BAKED TURKEY WINGS

DEEP FRIED TURKEY WINGS

Tender turkey wings, creamy mashed potatoes, and savory gravy on a scalloped red plate.

The homemade gravy that I made for these wings is a winner, and it’s prefect to go on rice or mashed potatoes. The gravy is loaded with fresh mushrooms & onions, and you already know that it’s seasoned perfection!

By slow cooking the turkey wings, they are sure to be falling of the bone tender once done.

I made it according to the recipe instructions without deviating. Thank you so much Rosie. I’m learning to cook through you Rosie. You are truly a Godsend.

Wish I could try this but where I live they do not sell Turkey wings or a lot of other things I like but will try making this with chicken wings instead.

Thank you for not only this recipe but all of the great recipes you have provided for someone like myself that never had confidence in cooking great meals. I am grateful to you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom and look forward to your cookbook. My wife has always been doing most of the cooking and now It feels great to know I can have good hot meals ready for her when she gets off being that I get off work before her. Again thanks a million and be blessed.

I got this in the slow cooker and can’t wait to get home later today. My wife says the house is smelling wonderful
because of this. It’s a dope new way of preparing this meal and it offered me an option for preparing the gravy differently than I have been accustomed to. Can’t wait to get home and taste this. I made a run to the store at 7AM just to get the portobello, while everything else was already on hand.

It’s a easy receipt to follow making delicious turkey wings in the slow cooker! I’ve prepare it numerous times. The only part of the wing ever left is the bones on their plates! I’m making it again for Christmas for my entire family! Thanks fir sharing!

First of all, I love all of your recipes. You are my favorite chef and my go to for recipes. That being said, can I use dried sage? Would it make a big difference?

Thank you! Your mac & cheese is the only version my husband will eat. Your smothered pork chops, your yams, basically everything is so good! I am making the turkey wings for Christmas. I know they will be a hit! I agree with another comment made…you need a cooking show.

First time making smothered anything…I left out the sage (personal preference) and doubled everything, also used a couple turkey thighs with the wings…AMAZING! That gravy is CHEFS KISS*
Now I’m trying to determine what else this would be good with…maybe lamb…. YUMMM!
