This tasty Southern Green Beans and Potatoes recipe is so versatile it can be served as a main course or a side dish, for Sunday dinner or a holiday meal! It is so flavorful!

In this post we’re making Southern Green Beans and Potatoes. My mother used to make this dish as a main dish when I was younger, and she would serve it along with cornbread. During the holidays, or for Sunday dinner, I serve this as a side dish.

This recipe is super easy. It has your carbs, your vegetables, and your meat so you are good to go. I highly suggest serving this along with my buttermilk cornbread because the two pair nicely!

Give this recipe a try and tell me what you think.

Hi Rosie you have been a lifesaver girl! I was raised by my Father so my cooking skills were slim to none until I found you and Diva’s can cook! I’ve tried quite a few of your recipes and I used to always be afraid to bake from scratch until I came across your site! Thank you for your recipes they are really tasty and easy to follow! My new Hubby of 2 years stays full and I’m able to teach my 12 year old how to cook and we bake a lot together! 🙂 Thanks Girl you’re the best! Keep the recipes coming God Bless!

    Hi Rosie,

I am sooooo happy that I found your website. I often wondered why my food didn’t have the KICK to it like others. Now, I’m in there thanks to you.

Do you have a recipe for mash potatoes as I side dish without the potatoes and meat? I want to make the salsbury (sp?) steak dinner with green beans and mash potatoes. Thank you.

    Hi Rosie
I made your seafood dressing for Thanksgiving and it was a great hit. My family only wants seafood dressing for now on. I also made your smoked turkey green beans. Thank you so much for your southern recipes.
