A sweet take on the traditional Pico De Gallo! This pic is made with fresh ripe strawberries and spicy jalapenos. It pairs well with cinnamon and sugar-dusted chips or fruit chips.

Vibrant reds and greens showoff in the strawberry and jalapeño pico served in a round white serving bowl. Plain and cinnamon tortilla chips surround the bowl.

The delicious Pico De Gallo inspires this recipe! Traditionally it is made of tomatoes, onions, cilantro, spicy peppers, and lime. However, since it’s summer, l want y’all to put those fresh strawberries to use. Therefore we’re making this delicious strawberry and jalapeno pico.

How to Make Strawberry and Jalapeño Pico

Grocery list

  • 3 cups Strawberries, sliced, stems removed
  • 1 Lime, zested and juiced
  • 4-5 Jalapeños, diced, seeds removed
  • White onion, diced
  • Red Onion, diced
  • ½ cup chopped cilantro
  • Salt and pepper to taste
A big white serving bowl filled with fresh strawberry and jalapeño pico. Colorful napkins and tortilla chips lay nearby.

What if I can’t eat strawberries?

Can’t have strawberries? No problem. You can replace the strawberries with sliced blueberries, blackberries, and even cherries!

Can I use frozen fruit for this recipe?

Honestly, I’d suggest sticking to fresh fruit for the best result. I’ve tried using frozen fruit before, and the pico was slightly watery.

Strawberry and jalapeño pico filled with bright red strawberries, fresh jalapeños, crispy red onions and fresh cilantro. It's served in a large white bowl and garnished with cinnamon tortilla chips.
